SOOUL 2 SOUL Podcast Series

Where is your voice? In troubling times, we think about this question. It is something we search for in community and throughout society when we are trying to express how we feel in difficult situations or raise awareness to our plight in life. For the youth, they often cannot find their voice because they do not have a medium where it can be heard.

With the Sooul II Soul podcast series, we aim to give young people an opportunity to voice their opinions and have their perspective heard on a variety of topics that relate to their lives, schools and communities. In this format, we journey through the life of middle and high school students to discuss the peaks and valleys they endure while trying to grow into responsible adults. We travel with them on their journey. Our group at SOOUL seeks to mentor their soul as they speak to ours.

SOOUL II Soul is a program of SOOUL Foundation.

Structure of Program

Concept

Our goal is to develop a medium for pre-teens, teenagers and young adults in our communities to voice their views and opinions about our world through the filter of Jesus Christ. This is with the hope of them developing a relationship with God, and reconciliation with their community churches in order to develop into the purpose they were called to. By allowing them to develop their faith in Jesus Christ and experience our Savior’s love, our vision is to have a stronger Roanoke community and country.

Benefit

The primary benefit is to save lives by giving voice to the voiceless. Hearing their peers’ stories and struggles will give inspiration to get through their own valleys in life. We look to use this to develop a deeper connection to their family and immediate community to curtail any future issues with adversity. We want to expand the voice of the local leaders who do the everyday work of serving our young people. This will allow youth ministries to expand on their current programming and increase their outreach efforts.

Implementation

We have developed content that is current to topics and issues of young people with the filter of how Jesus Christ did or did not play a part in their life. We will search schools/churches for volunteer individuals/groups to find candidates for interview segments. The program will partner with local high school AV teams, radio stations, churches and use social media to air and market each segment.
